Care that knows you by name

Dr. Laura Whitcomb took over a long-standing Bar Harbor practice and has spent years building an office people feel calm walking into.

Our story

A neighborhood practice, carried forward

When Dr. Edward Sloane retired after decades of caring for Bar Harbor families, Dr. Laura Whitcomb stepped in to keep that chair warm. Since then she's built a loyal local following the honest way, one careful visit at a time.

She earned her dental degree from an accredited U.S. dental school and has kept studying ever since, through a restorative implant residency and ongoing continuing education in the techniques this office relies on.

“We're humans first, and then professionals.” That idea shapes everything here, including how we answer the phone and how we explain a treatment plan.

What that looks like

The way we like to work

DMDdoctor of dental medicine, with implant training
Same daycrowns and urgent visits when you need them
7team members who'll come to know you by name
All agesfamilies welcome, and we're taking new patients

Always learning, on purpose

Dentistry keeps changing, and Dr. Whitcomb keeps up with it. Ongoing training and continuing education are part of how this office runs, which is why you'll find tools here that many small practices don't have. It's care that stays current without losing the personal feel of a small-town office.

You'll meet the same hygienists and coordinators on each visit, the kind of continuity that makes it easier to relax and easier to keep up with your care over the years.

Meet the team

Come see the difference a calm office makes.

Maybe you're overdue for a cleaning. Maybe you want a dentist who'll take your nerves seriously. Either way, we'd love to meet you.
